Who is Descending Dove Apostolic Alliance?
Some History
DDAA is currently run out of Emmaus, PA, USA as the result of a vision that the Lord has given to Brent and Beth Evans. We have been careful to do all that the Lord has instructed us (albeit not perfectly), and to NOT do anything that the Lord Himself is NOT instructing us to do, no matter how traditionally "right" it may sound. Preparation has been very difficult, but through years of discipline and hardship we are now just beginning to see the first fruits of staying faithful to one another and to the ways of the Lord. Indeed we are still in the vision stage to a large degree, but have seen God lay the groundwork for the fruit stage.
So what's in a name?
My initial answer to that normally would have been, "Not much." I Peter 4:16 says, ...but praise God that you bear that name." The fact that we bear God's name is preeminent. We take it seriously to know that we bear His name. To bear means "to move while holding up and supporting" or "to support the weight of"- (Merriam Webster). While we move, it is critical that we move only as HE directs, or else we are simply not supporting the weight of that glorious name. That being said, our name is of secondary importance to THE name (Hashem), but in reality, God Himself still hangs quite a bit on a name. A name can actually point to one's identity, one's destiny and inheritance, or to whom one belongs. Hence the following explanation:
In early 2006, through a dramatic series of events, Brent was impressed with the need to incorporate so that donors' monies could be handled more properly and when we inquired of the Lord regarding a name, he gave us one so we obeyed. As we have embarked on this latest journey of obedience, the Lord has impressed us with both the importance and the significance of a name and has made this particular name very personal to us:
Descending Dove: When God comes to man, when heaven kisses earth, by default awesome things happen, fruits of the Spirit are borne and the Great Commission is fulfilled with only obedience on our parts. Our hearts are, that we should be ready vessels who only channel God's grace, who join God in HIS work, not an organization that does what we think is best and then asks the Lord to bless it.
Apostolic: We are called and sent out by God as a result of HIS CHOOSING and His ordination. We have no desire to go where we are not sent or authorized by the Spirit of God to go, or to walk in "authority" which God Himself has not bestowed upon us. On the other hand, the opinions and qualifications that men demand that we meet, that we do not meet, will not deter us, so long as we have heard from God.
Alliance: This organization is to be made up of many hearts that God Himself is assembling, each with various contributions of many kinds, and each with no personal agendas. Man's agendas will never be tolerated. Our only agenda is the expansion of God’s Kingdom at any cost, even personal. To form an alliance around God's agenda is our desire.

How things have shaped up SO FAR
For some time we have been on a long and arduous journey. The Lord gave Brent some very strong words throughout the past 15 years of a call to release His word as He gives it, reaching to nations beyond, but not until He said to do so. After waiting some time and years of sometimes difficult preparation, in 2001, the Lord finally spoke, "Go," to Brent and he was invited to go and begin ministering with Bishop Robert Makona in Kenya, who currently heads World Revival and Salvation Ministries in Kitale, Kenya. Bishop Makona's far-reaching vision and encouragement has been an early key in launching this ministry.
Through going to Kenya
and WRS Ministries, Brent met many
ministers and individuals with whom he stayed in contact. One day he was
contacted by Moses Nyongesa
of MEIF
ministries. The Lord had moved in the hearts of many within the that
ministry to contact Brent. It is a very long story so contact us if you'd
like the rest of the details, but to shorten it quite a bit, Brent went against
his usual skepticism because of the sense of the Holy Spirit on it. The
answer was that yes, this time, it was of God (there were several others who
hadn't been) and we
facilitated relations with them and have now been to visit and minister with
them twice. As we have been faithful to obey and go, God has met us, gone with
us and confirmed His word and work through us with signs following. For
several months both ministries (MEIF and DDAA) went through a long period of
God-induced "coma." That is to say, testing, trying, pruning and death.
However, recently God has brought resurrection as only He can! Also, it
has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to Moses, the MEIF board and this
ministry to make MEIF a part of DDAA, and we are praying exactly how our
partnership is "supposed to look." For now, we are all just calling it
DDAA/East Africa. God has not
yet made clear exactly how the details are to be worked
out, only that we are to be united in a common cause. They are doing
the Lord's work in the East African region, based in
Bungoma, Kenya. Moses and the rest of the ministry
have a vision united to ours with regards to wanting God's will and God's
Kingdom over any of the plans and programs of man. They also have
a very strong call of God in their hearts to minister to the orphan and widow.
Anyone who has spent any amount of time in the word of God knows that this is a
ministry very near and dear to God's heart. There have been donations from
friends of this ministry for milk cows for the widows - this is a great help to
bring relief, even one cow can greatly assist a large group of widows. The
Lord has put both Moses' life and ministry and our lives and ministries through
a very difficult pruning recently, but He is also now beginning to fulfill His
promises to us all.
The vision God has given us reaches into the world. Brent was once asked, "Why do you feel you have to go to Africa when we have so much need right here in our own cities in the USA?" The answer is so simple as to be offensive... "Ask the Lord - He is the One doing the calling and the sending." We are not doing anything because it seems like a neat thing to do or because we want to get "busy for God!" We will go where we are told, when we are told and not allow logic, man's wisdom or feelings to interfere. Interestingly, we have talked to more than one in Kenya who feel that they have in turn been called of God to minister in the USA and some Africans even now are here as missionaries. Let us not suppose that we are wiser than the Father. We believe that even as God has begun this work and it is young and small; it is His job to carry it on to completion and our job is, again, just to obey as He leads. India, other parts of Africa and Europe await... maybe more beyond that, but for now that is all that He has revealed.
It is His story and we will remain content to let Him write it in His way.
